General Safe Swallowing Strategies - Many resident will need more specific and individualised strategies so make sure you liaise with you SLT to ensure you have the right ones for those you are supporting
Free Water Protocol - If your SLT has recommended this for someone you care for then download this info! Thickening liquids aren’t the only option and in fact if implemented by someone without the expertise can actually create more harm than good. Always consult your local SLT to see if a Free Water Protocol might be appropriate for your residents.
